“My name is Billy PTL (Praise the Lord), I had a severe motorbike accident and was in a coma for 5 months and a wheelchair for 2 years. I was living with my parents in our family home. My Daddy died in 2000.

One day I called Sky TV to close my account, a girl answered my call and least did I know that she was in India. I expressed my desire to visit India and also shared my testimony. She offered to help me by saying I could try Indian treatment to improve my disability. Hence the church helped me buy my plane ticket and while in India I got married to her.

When I returned my siblings had put the house for sale. My church friend took me to social welfare office and they provided me a hostel in Swords. Hence I was homeless for 3 months. I contacted Simon Communities and they assigned a key worker who helped me find a house. My wife came to live with me and she applied to 20 different voluntary organisations and one replied saying they had apartments available. Hence now we live in it.

I always like to capture moments in my life and hence end up taking photos. I enjoyed the In Sight project for it gave me an opportunity to look at life’s reality more closely while I was on streets hoping to capture good shots.

My Goal is to keep on ‘keeping on’ in life and to look forward and keep progressing in Life. Even though I have a brain injury and mobility issues it will not stop me from doing things in my capacity. For life is full of hope, and where there is a will there will always be a way. God is my strength.”
